An independent quality label for the recognition of good quality assurance

sureplus

Reliable. Sustainable. Transparent.  Doable.  Digital.  That's our focus.

What does this label offer?

The sureplus label is a certification of good practice in quality assurance. It offers  organizations (institutions, centers, facilities,  companies, centers) the opportunity to have their good practice be recognized by external experts. The label is not a certification of a specific product or process.  It is aimed at the application of integrative quality assurance, focusing on all relevant aspects in an organization, with an emphasis on human factors.

Since when does it exist?

The label is a continuation and refinement of the PROSE quality label, which was already available in 2004  for users of the PROSE quality management toolbox. It was  the first quality label developed and awarded in Flanders. Since 2018 it is  redesigned into the sureplus label and is also available without the use of the PROSE instrument. PROSE makes it
however, easier to achieve the predefined quality levels.

Who is it for?

The sureplus label is intended for organizations that opt for sustainable integrative quality care, which is well coordinated. It is  mainly intended for the not-for-profit sectors, but also for companies in the sector of social economy. Networks or membership associations overarching organizations in specific sectors can
enter an agreement that results in the label being adopted by their network.

Who manages the label?

The sureplus label is managed by AQARTO, an autonomous agency for quality assurance.  AQARTO  works  with independent experts,  has been involved as a partner in projects of the European Commission, and has also provided advice to  government services. When a network or association of organizations adopts the quality label, a collaboration can be set up in management and distribution.

How is the assessment done?

First, there is a self-assessment. Clear criteria and assessment standards allow you to consider whether you qualify for a label. You prepare a self-assessment report within  your organization, which is then assessed by independent experts in quality assurance. It is examined whether the information provided is sufficient and whether the self-assessment is correct. From a certain level and in case of discussion points, an interview or a site visit is arranged. A validation supervisor monitors the process.

Basic criteria, defined as the 7C's in the COMPADRE model, are the starting point, followed by a scan of the 4 basic functions of quality management: appointing, assuring, advancement, and accountability. With this label you receive recognition of your quality assurance at a high level. We don't carry out separate certification of basic conditions or specific processes, because in the vision of integrative quality assurance, these are only meaningful in the growth towards integrative quality management, recognized by a fully-fledged label.

Announcement

Organizations with a sureplus quality label receive a certificate. Laureates with label A or B are announced on this publicly accessible website, with an indication of the level of the label obtained, the date of award and the period of validity.

The digital version of this label can be placed on the laureate's own website. A public handover can also take place if necessary.

Costs?

The cost depends on the size of the organization and the level for which the label is is applied for. See the rates in the information brochure.

Umbrella organizations can enter  an agreement whereby their members receive the label at a cheaper rate.

PROSE users benefit from a discounted rate, and conversely, obtaining a label also leads to a lower PROSE rate. In this way we contribute to encouraging deployment of quality assurance in the sector.

How is the label structured?

Levels are distinguished based on the achievement of 80+40 specific criteria, which are predefined  and available. Besides 40 criteria at the level of quality assurance, there is also an assessment of the basic conditions for quality assurance, using 80 criteria.

The assessment is done via indices that are calculated on the basis of the various criteria (expressed in an index of effectiveness), but also on the basis of the performance or degree of realization. This you will find  clearly explained in the (downloadable) brochure explaining also the assessment scheme.  The label is a growth model,  with A+  as the highest level. The period of validity is also determined by the level: the B-label is valid for 3 years, the A-label for 4 and  the A+ label for 5 years.  The C- and D-level  are entry levels that are recognized only once as a step-up to higher levels.

Everything  is clearly explained in the information brochure. The document to be submitted for application also contains the criteria. So you know in advance where you stand and you are well-informed on how to reach a level of quality assurance.
